From Al-Ilm Weekend School to IMCA Weekend Academy: A New Beginning

IMCA

For many years, Al-Ilm Weekend School has provided families with a trusted place for Islamic learning. Parents valued its balance of Qur’an, Islamic studies, and community spirit, while students benefited from the guidance of dedicated teachers.

Now, with the merger of Al-Ilm Weekend School and Amana Academy, a new chapter begins: the IMCA Weekend Academy. This change is more than a name; it reflects a stronger, unified vision for weekend Islamic education.

Why the Change?

Both Al-Ilm Weekend School and Amana Academy shared the same mission—to nurture faith, knowledge, and character through structured weekend learning. By combining efforts, the IMCA Weekend Academy is now able to provide:

🔹Qualified Teachers and Staff – The new academy brings together experienced and passionate educators from both schools.
🔹Strengthened Curriculum – A unified program that builds on the best practices of each academy.
🔹 Qur’an with Tajwid – Small-group lessons led by qualified teachers, ensuring proper recitation and understanding.
🔹Expanded OpportunitiesMore programs, structured sessions, and a stronger foundation in Islamic learning.

This merger ensures that the strengths of both schools are preserved and expanded for the benefit of all students.

What’s New at IMCA Weekend Academy

The program structure has been designed to provide flexibility while deepening the learning experience.

📖 Saturdays – Dedicated Qur’an Focus (Optional)

🔹Designed for accelerated Qur’an study.

🔹Students are placed in age- and skill-based groups.

🔹Within each group, progress is individualized—for example, one child may be reciting Surah An-Nas while another works on Surah Al-Falaq.

🔹The entire session is devoted to tajwid, recitation practice, and fluency building.

🌙 Sundays – Qur’an + Islamic Studies

🔹Qur’an lessons continue, reinforcing progress made on Saturdays.

🔹Focus on Islamic identity, character development, and applying Islam in daily life.

🔹Led by qualified teachers who provide close attention and care.

This two-day structure balances consistency with flexibility. Sundays continue the established model of Qur’an and Islamic studies, while Saturdays provide an optional, intensive track centered on Qur’an mastery.

Looking Ahead

The establishment of IMCA Weekend Academy represents a significant step forward. It carries forward the legacy of Al-Ilm Weekend School while introducing new opportunities for students to grow. With stronger resources, a united community, and a curriculum that balances Qur’an and Islamic studies, the academy is ready to serve families for years to come.
